3-year-old succumbs to injuries after torture by mother near Kochi

KOCHI: A three-years-old boy, who was hospitalised with head injuries after being assaulted by his mother, died on Friday morning in Aluva.
Hospital sources said the boy succumbed to injuries at around 9.05 am. He was brought to the hospital in Aluva by his father on Wednesday saying he fell down from terrace. But the hospital authorities got suspicious over the claim of the father and found burn injuries on the body of the boy.There was serious injury on the boy's head forcing the doctors to carry out surgery to stop bleeding. The boy was on ventilator support ever since he was brought to the hospital.
The hospital sources soon informed children helpline and Eloor police. Police on Thursday arrested mother for murder attempt.
The boy's father is a west Bengal native and mother is from Odisha. They reached Kerala two weeks ago.
